"Arwen´s" 4th birthday

Friday the 16th September was our Heda Jifex "Arwen´s" 4th birthday. However for "Arwer" it was exactly the same day as another else. Even if she smiled as usually when we have been congratulating her this morning, she looked for the afternoons long walk the most. We can´t believe that it was almost 4 years ago when we brought little "Arwen" from Mr. Fencl from Česká Bříza.
We prepared a birthday cake for "Arwen". We put everything that she likes in there. Well, not exactly everything because in this case the cake would be the same as a cake that pejsek a kočička by Josef Čapek made. You can see in the following pictures how she appreciated it. But she didn´t eat it all, she share it with her children Harry, Hermiona and Ellen and with Gira of course for whom we prepared special gluten free piece. So that every fellow of our pack had his own part.

We have been crossing all our fingers since Friday because our friend Mr. Jindřich Fencl (kennel Jifex) took part in XXVIII International Club Universal Trial in Lipová (Cheb district) with Helga Jifex (our "Arwen´s" sister). We have been waiting for their news impatiently.
Late at night, we finally managed to call him and we got to know that Helga Jifex with Jindra had finished this year´s most difficult event in the second prize with 446 points. Congratulations to both of them for this excellent result. We appreciate their achievement in the difficult terrains and weather.

SPANIEL SPECIALITY SHOW 10. 9. 2011 LUHAČOVICE

We booked last Saturday the 10 September in our diaries for the Special Spaniel Dog Show in Luhačovice a lot of time ago. The show took place in a nice area of town sport center where was enough space for three rings end also enough space around rings for all dogs and their masters. Mrs. Janka Janek from Slovakia judged our loved Welsh Springer Spaniels. We have been asked to prepare all common documents for this show. Every catalogue, certificate and judgement sheet was prepared and printed in our computer and everything was checked carefully to avoid the complications during the show. So everything was all right and we didn´t received any complaint. Our team, bigger than last time in Slovakia, set off early in the morning.We were three people Zdeněk, Petra and Jitka and four dogs Harry Potter Ivančice, Hermiona Granger Ivančice, Heda Jifex "Arwen" and this time also Hella Ellen Ivančice. We met our friend Renáta Tetřevová in there, we "camped" together and we had a lot of fun.

Harry Potter Ivančice was as usually the first of "our" dogs to step into the ring, which was covered by the green carpet. Harry led by Petra showed an excellent effort in the Middle Class, he showed himself in a great mood and he deserved Excellent 1, CAC. Petra, Harry´s owner who is still in Canada, is really happy for his successes too and she waits always impatiently for our report about how her baby did in the show.

Hermiona Granger Ivančice went second to the show ring in Luhačovice. Hermiona charmed really well, she wasn´t left behind her book and film namesake, so she and Zdeněk left the ring with Excellent 1, CAJC, Speciality Junior Winner.

Harry and Hermiona´s mother came last but not least in the ring number 3. "Arwen" will be 4 soon and she is in her best physical and psychical form. She really enjoys the shows. The best proof is her Excellent 1, CAC in the Winner class.

Twigle Noor - CLUB CHAMPION

When we arrived at home from the show, we decided to open the bottle of vine that Arwen won in the Special Water Trial in Miroslav because we thought we had enough reasons for celebrations. So we drank a success of past two week-ends. Though, we didn´t have any idea that it isn´t all yet!

Hagrid Rubeus Ivančice "Brixi" - excellent 1, CAC, Slovakia Winner 2011, BOB

Hagrid Rubeus Ivančice "Brixi" participated in the National Dog Show in Prešov in the East Slovakia. Led by his master Andrea he gained the top success of the breed, because he obtained Excellent 1, CAC, Slovakia Winner and even BOB. We are really happy for this result, we congratulation, thank you Andrea and Brixi for an awesome representation of our kennel and we wish you many others similar successes.

We went to Slovakia again on Sunday the 4 September. The Klub chovatelov pol'ovných sliedičov organized this year´s Club Show that we didn´t want to miss in Báč, on Žitný ostrov. The show was judged by the excellent judge Mr. David Shields from Great Britain whose judgements we cared for. There were 23 Welsh Springer Spaniels in this show and 3 of them were for Ivančice. Harry Potter Ivančice and his sister Hermiona Granger Ivančice and their mother Heda Jifex "Arwen" (but she was only "looking") come right from Ivančice. Hagrid Rubeus Ivančice "Brixi" and his kind Mladšík family came from the Eastern Slovakia. And two toy rats Julie and Julie went to this trip too.

Our first attendant in the ring was Harry Potter Ivančice. He defeated two other dogs in the Youth Class, he gained Excellent 1, CAJC, JCC and Club Young Winner. Obtaining this third CAJC Harry reached the requested number for obtaining Junior Champion SK titular.

Our next "favorite" was Hagrid Rubeus Ivančice "Brixi" in the Intermediate Class who done very well with his master Andrea and who deserved Excellent 1, CAC, CC.

Thanks a lot to the whole Mladšík family for coming through all Slovakia in the Show in Báč and for spending all the nice day with us. And the special thanks to Andrea for the perfect handling. We wish many other successes to Andrea and Brixi.

Hermiona Granger Ivančice showed herself for the first time in "adult" Intermediate Class. She did perfectly well in the competition and deserved Excellent 2, Res. CAC.

We all participated in the afternoon´s competition "THE BEST SIRE" and we and Jankina Zahrada´s Welsh Springer Spaniels reached the first place for our "D" litter´s Sire ICH Twigle Noor.

We made a lot of changes in PUPPIES site on sunday (czech version), because we made our nearest plan concrete. We decided to repeat the last year´s successful litter by "Arwen" and Noor. If everything goes well according to our plans, the puppies with the same parents as last "H" litter will be born in the end of this year or at the beginning of the next year. We believe that all puppies will be also amazing welshies as "H" litters´ puppies.

This lot of water in the picture above is the Saint Lawrence River passing through Montral in Canada. Petra, the Harry Potter Ivančice´s owner, made this picture in her own hand. She went to the fare-away Canada to study the local french-canadian literature. And that is the reason why Harry came back for some time to the native house. Well, where else would he been better then at his mother "Arwen"!

We started off our own Ivančice´s photogalery in the Website album Picassa. We will show there our photos. For the beginning, we put there 80 photos from this year´s WSS meeting in Kukleny.
If there is anybody wanting to read more about this meeting, he can read the repport from this event which is nearly all Zdeněk´s job. You can find it in the WSS website of KCHLS.

We have been looking for a placement on SWT for "Arwen" since a long time ago. By the stroke of luck, there were one single place on the trial in Miroslav. Well, it was quite quickie but we decided to participate. So we spent all Saturday near the lake Rény in Miroslav. We were accompanied by 16 pointers and one labrador retriever with their masters, five judges and many onlookers. In spite of the fact that "Arwen" was the smallest dog in the trial, she had to conform to the rules for pointers and she did it very well.

Our great friend, Mr Antonín Vespalec,

"Arwen" spent her free time before the results by bathing in the lake.
She simply wanted to enjoy the water during the water trial.

This year´s the 16th summer WSS meeting took place from the Thursday 28th to the Sunday 31st in Hradec Králové, in part called Kukleny,in the scout´s clubhouse. The expedition from Ivančice was numerous however all of us weren´t able to go. Hermiona was on heat so Petra stayed at home with her and Zdeněk refused to take care of three dogs during the meeting so Gira stayed at home too in order that Petra and Hermiona weren´t alone. As a consequence Zdeněk with "Arwen" and Ellen and with our great friend Jitka and her welshies babies Fram and Freny set off on Thursday after the lunch. We are happy that Petra with Harry didn´t missed the meeting even if they came late in the evening. Anyway we had a lot of fun. On Saturday, Mr. Ing. Milan Dvorský, Ph.D. with his dog Cyprus Ivančice, who was 16 in the 5th Jully, came to see us! You can really see that Cyprus is a worthy "whitebeard" but he is still interrested in what´s happening. We are really glad, that the dog we breeded has such a long life.
It is certainly thanks to his owner and we thank him for his care. In this meeting, there were six welshies from Ivančice.

She has never confess the fact that she is steamship company´s owner
in the lake in Předměřice nad Labem.

Zdeněk is going to throw the saussige for Harry during the event "the saussige fetching"
during the afternoon´s competitions. Harry gained only 4 points because he ate the most of
the saussige despite his mother "Arwen" who fetched the saussige twice without any damage
and she was third in this competition only because of the time!

The other part of our pack - Gira, Hermiona and Petra - enjoyed the sweet home instead
of the meeting. The home made gluten free cake with plums was served so as Gira
could eat it too.

43 people with 28 Welsh Springer Spaniels and 7 other breeds participated in the inauguration of the this year´s meeting.
Apart from the dog training, which was the main activity, there were also a very inspiring lesson concerning dog shows held by Miss Markéta Děkánková. There was an aweful weather during this meeting so the competitions with dogs took place in the clubhouse. Despite everybody had a lot of fun. Adélka Tydlitová kept an eye out for every event as a head judge. Every participant won finaly a small prix as a reminder of his excellent achievement.
The biggest acknowlidgements for this meeting goes to Ing. Kamil Rind at first who ensured the flat runnning of the meeting. Every participant was confortable all the time and we left for our houses with plenty of nice memories and looking for the next WSS meeting again in Kukleny.

Michal came to our home. They accepted the invitation for halušky with the true Slovak
sheep cheese which we brought from Slovakia last week.
We made halušky according to the recipe which Andrea, Brixi´s owner, taught us,
and everybody enjoyed them. Thanks a lot.

Trip to the East of Slovakia and INTERNATIONAL DOG SHOW 23 July 2011 VEĽKÁ IDA (SK)

On Friday, 22 July, we set off with a part of our pack to the East of Slovakia to spend a week-end with the family where Hagrid Rubeus Ivančice "Brixi" has been living since last year. We received the invitation a lot of time ago so we were looking forward more and more. After a long way (more than 8 hours), we arrived to the destination where we felt as in the beautiful end of the world. We enjoyed the most meeting with the whole Mladšíkovi family and Hagrid called "Brixi" at home.
We spent an amazing long week-end with a small welshie pack in the captivating countryside. These brilliant days were full of chatting and stories concerning dogs and another topics. We saw Hagrid for the first time after his departure. We were keen on this amazing and handsome "Mr. Dog" with a nice and well-ballance character.
Thanks cordially to Mladšík family for invitation, for the time they gave us, for nice presents and for their hospitality. Andrea, Joža, Zuzka and Jura thanks a lot, it was super!

The International Dog Show in Vel´ká Ida was one part of our brilliant trip. Show "crew" was bit different this time. As usually, there were Petra and Zdeněk and for the first time (and we hope not for the last time) there were Andrea and her daughter Zuzka. Welshie participants were "Brixi", Hermiona, Ellen as a necessary moral support and all children were owerseen by their mother "Arwen".
Welshies were judged by Ms Janka Janek from Slovakia in the ring 3.
Brixi represented us very well in the youth class with Andrea. "Brixi" gained Excellent mark and great report in huge competition. Our another hope was Hermiona in the youth female class who won this class and gained Excellen 1 CAJC. Obtaining this third CAJC, she accomplished conditions to be awarded by title Junior champion SK in 15 month. In the champion class, "Arwen" showed herself and received Excellent, CAC, CACIB. Having this fourth CACIB, "Arwen" accomplished conditions for the title C.I.E. - International show champion.
We are really proud of our two dog-children "Brixi" and Hermiona and their mom "Arwen" too. Congratulations to Andrea and Brixi for the great award and thanks for brilliant representation of our kennel. We are lookin forward to the next shows together.

We received a great, awesome news from East Slovakia! Hagrid, called "Brixi" by his masters, and his master Andrea passed successfuly the working ability test. He received the best marks for the most important skills which made us absolutely happy.
However, the discipline "behaviour in contact with a cat" il still part of the test in Slovakia and it is not typical for Brixi´s behaviour. He obtained low mark for this skill, which was abandoned a lot of time ago in Czech Republic. Because of this one low mark, he finished the exam in the third prize. But we are still happy, as he showed that he was a perfect flushing spaniel and that his abilities were high-quality.

Congratulations Andrea and Brixi for passing successfuly the exam, we wish you a good luck for next ones and thanks for such a great representation.

Our "team" set off for the Dog show Intercanis in Brno on Saturday, last week. We didn´t have to get up early this time, because this time it was "next door" and because we know the way perfectly. This Saturday, it was only Harry and Hermiona who represented us, both in youth class. "Arwen" and Ellen came as a moral support.
Welshies were judged by Mr. Miroslav Václavík in the ring 7. Harry and Hermiona received Excellent 1 CAJC and then Hermiona won BOJ title when she knocked down her brother. On the other hand, Harry didn´t fall flat at all as he accomplished conditions for the title Czech Junior Champion. We congratulate Petra and Harry and we thank for representing well our kennel.

"Kety" the 12/7/1997 - 16/6/2011

Something really sad happened to us today. Life with the dogs includes also the death. Cira Jifex „Kety“ died suddenly on Thursday aftenoon, last week. Her health has been deteriorating last few weeks, she even hasn´t been going for a walk with us. Though, her death coming so unexpectedly hit us.
Kety was an enormous „dog personality“ and everybody who met her, had to remember her. During all her life, she was really lively and hard-headed. Her training made us crazy, but the results of her working test were admirable and she was absolutely into the work. She cared about her puppies with the same passion. She was the most devoted mother we ever met. She took care of her babies with the immense love and she was ready to protect them against the danger stronger than herself.
Kety spent almost fourteen beautiful years with us. She was at the beginning of our relationship. She was our first shared welshie and that is one of the reasons why she will take an unique place in our minds forever.

Saturday was cloudy and rainy, so we put the wellingtons, raincoats and spare clothes into our equipments for the hunting ability test in Třebelovice, organised by OMS Třebíč. Equipped like this, our „traditional“ team set out for Vysočina to test Hermiona´s, Ellen´s and Harry´s hunting abilities. This time, we were accompanied by Mr. Antonín Vespalec from village Polánka who is Cesky Fousek´s and German pointer´s breeder and passionate dogs´ trainer.
In spite of thousands of raindrops falling on our heads, we were lucky enough. Our Welshies were working all the day in a very good mood which wasn´t spoiled by the rain, and the results are adequate.

The post delivered us and Petra (Harry´s owner) the results of the Harry´s, Ellen´s and Hermiona´s HD investigation, passed few days ago. The results can´t be better and we are really happy for them.

Our females

We spent all Saturday taking part in the International Dog Show SPRINGDUODANUBE in Bratislava. This show was particularly interresting because it was qualifying event for Crufts 2012. Our team, same as for the last week´s show in Kačina, set off early in the morning. Only two toy rats Julie & Julie were left behind since we forgot them. Ellen went also though she wasn´t registered because at first if she stayed home, she would "replanted" all our indoor plants, and finally she has to gain experiences in big shows. Unfortunately, Gira, Kety & Gabi, who stayed at home, substituted her adequatly.

Seven Welsh Springer Spaniels, applied for the show, were judged by Mr. Petru Munteanu from Roumania. His judgements were uncompromising and severe. These judgements are really valuable for us.
